Is this weird to email a professor?

So I haven’t taking accounting since fall 2014, and i’m taking it in winter 2016. I’m taking the higher level of accounting and i feel i might have lost some information between then and now. Would it be weird to email my professor and ask what i should review to be prepared for the class? And how I word without sounding “weird”. Heres what i got so far,

Hi Mr._____, I’m currently enrolled in your accounting 1C class and I haven’t taken an accounting class since fall 2014. So I’m a little rusty on my accounting, are there any topics or websites I can review to help prepare me for the class? Just want to make sure I pick up all the slack and make sure I start off on the right foot. Thank you

I think it’s fine with the exception that if he/she has a doctorate change the address to Dr.

I don’t think it’s weird at all. Shows initiative.

They would love that! Definitely use Dr. so and so…or even Prof. so and so.

Great idea, do it!

As others have pointed out, just make sure if this professor has his doctorate. That should be pretty easy to find out (campus directory). It’s important to use a proper salutation; some people get offended if they aren’t addressed as “Dr. So and So.”
