Is this worth sending a correction sheet for?

I missed two things on my short essay:

1) On the second short essay, I forgot that their textboxes can’t handle superscript, so part of my essay appears as “3x108” instead of “3x10^8” (I was talking about light).

2) On the first short essay, I wrote “…I do yet not able to…” when it should be “…I am not yet able to…” This one is just blatantly wrong.

I called admissions and they said I could send in a corrections sheet but they can’t replace what is in the file.

just do it, it can’t HURT you right??

Yes, it probably won’t hurt you, but I highly doubt that it’ll be helpful either. What I imagine is that when you send in a correction, they will update it on the computer, like change the value in a field or w/e. I doubt they’ll actually go into your essay and fix it for you (or correct it by hand).

But again, no hurt in trying.

1) It’s obvious what you mean if you know anything about light. And if you don’t, you might not even know it’s wrong. It’s also clear why it would not appear like you intended it to, so that’s totally fine.

2) It’s also clear what you mean here. If you read through quickly, you might even read it to mean what you intended it to say. I’m sure virtually everyone makes some mistake like this at some point.

I wouldn’t send in a correction sheet for this. If you typed in the wrong SAT score or inaccurate information about activities you participate in (say said 90 hours instead of 9 per week) then you might send in a correction sheet… otherwise it would be a waste of their time really.

Don’t worry about it. I had a pretty glaring typo in the last word of one of my short essays (“masteriece”), a few small typos in my large essay, and E=MC2 instead of E=MC^2. I freaked out about it (you can search for the thread if you want) and ended up doing fine. Trust me, freaking out was a big waste of time and stress. They will not reject you on the basis of a few typos.

If you really can’t get it off your mind, then do yourself a favor and send in corrections (though I wasn’t allowed to for SCEA). Otherwise, leave it and spend your time on other apps.

I sent in the corrections. Thanks for your responses, everyone.
