Freshman: 3.53/3.20

I cam from a pretty low-level middle school and transferred to a competitive private high school. Everyone in my grade went to either a private middle school or a good public school; the ones that didn’t are really struggling. I am wondering how colleges will evaluate my grades.

Additional Info:
-honors and AP classes since freshman year (rigorous schedule)

Thanks :)

I would say yes, that is a good upward trend. Keep it up senior year :)

Any GPA above 3.5 won’t kill you.

what are the /'s for?

I have a pretty giant upward trend too, and I am told admissions officers recognize the upward trend and take your overall GPA with a grain of salt

also they place more emphasis on junior/senior year grades and totally disreagard freshman year when evaluating your transcript… (so i am told)

Wow thanks everyone. I felt so discourgaed from wanting to apply to Stanford because of my GPA, but this makes me feel a tiny bit better.
And the /'s mean first semester/second semester grades.

ahh then mine would be UW:

pre-freshman year but still on my transript: 3.0/ 3.66
Fresh: 3.66/3.5
Soph: 3.71/3.86
Junior: 4.00/4.00
