Is transferring worth it?

I want to know if transferring to a top school is worth it? I mean will you have the oppurtunities to network, join clubs, create relationships with professors in 2 years? I’m not sure that it is possible. Can you really have the experience of a first year student or something?

I’ve definitely done those things, and I’ve been here about two years.

The NYU name opened doors to internships I wouldn’t have gotten in CUNY.

I joined clubs and signed up to be a Welcome Week Ambassador within my first few months here.

Through my Professors, I landed into a research project at one of the other NYU divisions that I just wouldn’t have known about if I were still at CUNY.

So it’s definitely a tight fit, but it is definitely possible. You just have to hustle and know how to work the system, as well as be confident and ready.

As for the first year student thing. . . would I want to go back and have the entire four years at NYU? Of course. I still made friends, made it work, and I’m much, much, much happier here than I was at CUNY. It was definitely worth it.
