A lot of the acceptance percentages don’t match up and i was just wondering whether it was difficult to get into or not. Also, do they place emphasis on certain areas like test scores or extracurriculars? And does anyone know their average high school GPA?
Also, what is it like there? Anything anyone has to tell me:social life, food, dorms, clubs, interesting/boring classes, the professors, the surrounding area, and the general atmosphere on campus.
Thanks. :-)

Go here and look under the admissions tab. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/University_of_California

These two will help you get a feel for the UC Santa Cruz campus

The atmosphere of the campus is very laid back. The professors for the most part are good but like all campuses utilizing ratemyprofessor is a must in order to maximize your enjoyment of classes.

Food is good, but a little bit too vegetarian/ vegan (meatless mondays suck). Dorms are dorms (the new ones in college 9/10 are better), but the apartments are very nice.

As far as GPA most of the people I knew at least had around 3.6 - 4.0+ in High School but you can make up for that with ECs, high SAT/ACT, etc.
