Is UCB a reach or match?

I know UCB practices holistic admissions, but objectively am I “there.”

SAT: 2160 (700 math 700 writing 760 reading) -part i am scared about

SAT 2:
Math 2 - 800
Bio - 790
USH - 760
World History - 730

GPA:
4.65 UC uncapped
3.97 UW
4.45 cumulative
1 B in HS

Will probably be elc. Hoping GPA and SAT 2s make up for SAT1

Dunno if APs matter but i got a 5 in lit and a 4 in my other 4 APs

Applying to L&S, intended pre haas or pre econ (does it matter?)

We usually have 45ish people accepted into ucb each year if it matters, our school is pretty competitive.

Thanks!

yeah its automatic accept, ur very smart easy get in

UCB Fall 2012

http://admission.universityofcalifornia.edu/campuses/files/freshman-profiles-fall-2012/ucb_freshman_profile_fall2012.pdf

Oh dang, I was told im at the lower end of applicants cause of my low SAT…but thanks

Lower as in the lower 25-50 percent of applicants

Do you go to MSJ? I would recommend getting your SAT score up to a 2250+

Nope not msj, but i have heard of it. Yea I’m retaking the SAT but it feels like a drag lol

You are in the upper part of the class on all three sections of the SAT.

Berkeley is probably a match with your stats.

When I look at the link, I DO think number (not the scores) of AP’s taken , as well as honors and A-G’s counts.

Yup it seems like they take that into consideration… as i understand it, people apply to l&s as undeclared with an intended major. What would a pre haas apply as?

They apply with the same thing… Undeclared with Business intention. Your stats looks good, you should have a very good chance at getting into L&S even with your current SAT score.

Match. It can’t hurt to retake the SAT, but you probably don’t need to.

I’d say your a match. Your SAT and GPA are above the average. Good luck getting in.

For L&S, it does not matter for frosh admissions what intended major you indicate. All L&S frosh enter undeclared.

Economics does require at least a 3.0 GPA in prerequisite courses to declare. Business has a competitive admissions process to enter the major.

Yes i understand haas is hard to get into, but thanks for the info

ECs and essays are important too!

What are your ECs?

I worked hard on my ECs after my first SAT was a bit lower than expected so i think I am there EC-wise and am not too worried about ECs. I was just worried more about my objective stats because my SAT looked low for the school.

I know this is the wrong form, but since UCB and UCLA are almost equally competitive to get in, would the chance be the same there as well?
