<p>I remember them asking for your family income on the application, so chances are that they do kind of look at your financial status. This was in addition to turning in FAFSA, and the fact that they asked for the PREVIOUS year’s income (so basically, income in 2010…which is NOT used when they calculate financial aid) could mean that they look at your financial situation.</p>
<p>UCLA has the highest proportion of Pell Grant recipients of any elite university. I’d say we’re probably the opposite of need blind.</p>
<p>That income information is used to determine whether or not you qualify for application fee waivers. </p>
<p>Also remember that the application goes out to each UC that you select–does it necessarily mean each cares about the income you put on your application? I don’t know.</p>
