With tuitions rising, is UCLA worth the vast amount of money owed in the end? This especially applies to the chemistry major which I heard does not have a lot of job opportunities.

What do you mean worth the debt?

Is UCLA worth 20k debt? Yes, I’d say so.

Is UCLA worth 100k debt? Hell no and no undergrad school is.

Chemistry is not a vocational or professional major. The norm is people major in it to get a fundamental background before entering graduate school in medicine, pharmacy, optometry, dentistry, public health, teaching, nursing, etc.

Nope. What the hell you going to do with chemistry, do engineering.

If you’re going to go to grad school afterward–maybe.
If just doing a bachelors–no.

Either way, chemical engineering is far more valuable and would be worth it.

You could look into pharmacy or a PHD as well.
