if i log into ucla’s wifi network, will it protect my accounts from being accessed by other students who also share the network???

UCLA has a specific network called “UCLA_SECURE” which probaby does this. to even use this you need an account with the school, and i doubt any kid going there would jeopardize that to try to hack a few accounts.

Use an ethernet cord. -.-

Just keep this in mind: no network will be 100% secure.

That said, use the following type of connections for decreasing levels of security:
- Ethernet cord
- Wifi with WPA2 security
- Wifi with other inferior forms of security (WPA, WEP)
- Open wifi

You use your UCLA log in (the same credentials for myUCLA and URSA) to log onto the network. I’m sure some sort of packet sniffers can break WPA2 encryption, so learn how to use a VPN if you’re super paranoid.

UCLAWEB is for anyone who doesn’t have a BOL account (i.e. public access). If you have a BOL account, you can use UCLAWIFI.

But UCLA’s wifi is very secure. I haven’t heard anyone with security problem using UCLA’s wifi.
