As an OOS from NJ, I am in a situation that is going to change my life. I got into Rutgers CS, and Maryland CS and of course UIUC CS. 22k vs 41k vs 48k and money is an important factor but PRIORITY IS LANDING A JOB while not having to sleep at 4am every night. I will work hard but not get shafted to earn a degree and job. Do you think the other schools can place me into jobs if i do well there vs UIUC? Please respond and thanks.

Since landing a job is top on your list, have you looked at the list of companies attending the job fairs at each of the three schools that have granted you admission? Are the companies that you feel are the best visit each school or does one school clearly draw the better companies?

Having great internships and work experience are very important at snagging a job after graduating. What type of companies solicit for interns at each of the three schools?

Do the current students in each of the three school’s programs claim they work all night long, night after night? If you cannot find the information you are seeking by a web search, maybe you want to rephrase your question and ask it on each school’s forum.

Good luck in your endeavor!

the 48k isnt worth it. the other schools you mentioned are also very reputable. I had the same dilemma between u of i and UC berkeley. although it is obvious which choice is higher academically for undergrad, you will still get a great education at any school it all depends on how much work you put into it. Whereas, a loan is a loan and you will always have to pay it back. And those are schools are definitely acceptable especially if you plan on completing a masters degree, and then you can go to a higher ranked school and most likely have that education be paid for

NO undergraduate degree is worth $48,000 a year, especially in a technical discipline. You have other good alternatives; do yourself a favor and save the money.
