Those 2 questions.

UNC is both prestigous, but without too many snoobs, and a party school ( football and basketball is what keeps them alive)

yea im thinking of applying, but what level of prestige does it have

as in what is the ‘average’ sat score of the admitted person

It is one of the top Public universities in the country. U.S. News has Carolina in its top 5 for Public and top 30 overall.

Average “old” SAT score has usually been between 1280-1300.

If you are applying from out of state, you need to have an incredible resume. Carolina is required to admit a certain percentage of students from NC, so they can only admit the most qualified and elite OOS students who apply.

I’ll be applying out of state, it’s a fantastic school that I’d take over Ivys.

UNC is a fantastic school with a national and international reputation…as well as a great social scene. I wouldn’t define it as a party school, because I think of that as a term that diminishes a place. It’s a serious school with top-notch academics and resources that comes with really, really good partying opportunities :)

Thanks a lot ma.n
