Is it full of snobs?
It is a boys school but do UCC students(particularly boarders) ever meet up with girls?
Are Bishop Strachan girls hot/cute?
Are the academics very challenging
Is it the best boarding school in Canada?

put it this way its an IB school so its alot better than andover or exeter could ever be its the best school in canada

^ lol that has no logic whatsoever. just because its IB doesn’t make it better…

it is arguably the best school in canada… look at their alumnae list, it’s a pretty amazing school.
LOL i can’t really say whether or not BSS girls are “hot/cute” but they’re not repulsive…
their academics are pretty intense, no question
not sure about the snobs, but their students include kids from the richest families in the country… i’m sure there’s a mix of snobs and nice kids, as with every school.

:-) gl!

im just saying andover is not the most academically challenging school, i applied to ucc and they told me that there guidance counsellor went to harvard and harvard said it going from hardest to easiest IB- ap- then regular coarses

harvard say this its goes from hardest to easiest - IB- AP - REGULAR COARSES.
that is what ucc told me

Ok first, yes IB is more challengimg than AP’s and indeed, colleges like to see IB’s on your transcript but in no way, I repeat no way is Andover less challengin than the IB. Andover-Exeter and the other HADES schools all have a special curriculum that is designed to academically challenge you to such an extent that you will have 4-5 hours of homework daily. So don’t think that because the HADES schools don’t do the IB program that they are not challenging. Dhurley and DaveDrake both of you are truly ignorant and you need to get more accurate info.

excuse me your the ignorant one i never said it was not challengeing i just said IB is harder and its not like you know anything about UCC to even talk with some type of knowledge to talk about it.

…

No offense but for one, my brother is currently doing the IB Diploma program at a top 100 Public school in the U.S . I know quite a few people who attend HADES schools and the curriculum is a lot more challenging than the IB and yes I do know of UCC and I know about it’s curriculum, unfortunately their curriculum may be challenging but still not as high caliber as the HADES schools. So for one, no the IB is not as hard as other HADES schools curriculums, for two, I do know quite a bit about UCC so yes I do have the right to talk about it .

As someone who has actually done both the IB and went to a HADES school, I can say that the IB is no joke. IBs are easily superior to the APs, it is the upper elective classes at the HADES and like schools that knock the socks off of the IB. Plus in a HADES school essentialy everyone (at least in all of my classes at Hotchkiss, essentially everyone got 5s on the exam. The result of that is that you would get people with b minuses walking out with 5s. That would never happen in an IB school. The AP exams themselves are absolute jokes, but the classes leading up to the exams are very tough at HADES schools and are almost certainly tougher than your average IB school. You average IB schools is going ot be far harder and superior to your average AP school though. Getting 5s on all of your APs is an absolute joke, you could do it sleeping. Getting 7s on all of your IB exams is nothing short of a miracle, but so is getting all As in upper level HADES and like schools courses.

kafka, you’re exaggerating (pretty hugely, i might add) … getting 5s on all your APs is no easy feat especially if you’re taking 5 or more at once…

So basicay as a recap the AP Exams are easy but the classes that lead up to them at HADES schools are hard as hell and the IB classes and exams are extremy hard but not as hard as the HADES schools. Correct me if I am wrong…

what about the none ap coarses how can they compare to IB

They can’t, just like how non-IB courses can’t compare to AP courses…

lol i currently go to Bishop Strachan
yeah the girls are smoking hot =p
and you will have tons of opportunities to meet up with BSS girls (production, musical, community service, dances etc…)

as for the academics, i have no sufficient knowledge to compare IB to HADES - but from what I heard, its 1000 times more challenging than normal AP courses.

Did you guys know that it was Andover, Exeter, Deerfield and Lawrencville that created the AP, or something like that lol

Divealive,

To be honest, I don’t think I was really. I was speaking relatively of course. Relative to getting all 7s on the IB, getting all 5s on your APs is absolutely a walk in the park. I know MANY kids who get all 5s on their multiple AP tests, myself included. Trust me, it is not hard at all.

In my grade of all the people who took biology (60 kids split up among 3 teachers, every single person except 2 or 3 got 5s). If you smart enough to get into one of these schools, chances are you are smart enough to get straight 5s. The same absolutely cannot be said for the IB.

Swiss_brit, that is what I was saying.

Ohh sorry, I must have misread…lol
