<p>Like the question says, is the NYU CAS Urban Design and Architectural Studies a popular/ competitive major at NYU? I was just wondering because I applied for this major (ED2 class of 2015) and I really want to get in. I know chances are similar for any major at CAS but was wondering if this major in particular was harder to get into. This is because at NYU’s website, it said their Art History department, which includes Urban&Architectural Studies, is one of the best in the country, and come on, studying art/ architectural history in Manhattan is the perfect situation.</p>

<p>The major you apply for doesn’t matter - only the school does. That is, your chances of getting into CAS would be the same no matter what major you apply with. </p>
<p>I don’t think it’s too popular though…I’ve never met anyone majoring in Urban Design, and I’m in my Junior year in CAS. Art History seems to be a lot more popular though. The popularity of a major doesn’t necessarily correlate with its rankings (for example, Math is not a very popular major even though Courant is ranked so highly). The most popular programs in CAS are Psychology and Economics.</p>
