<p>A friend of mine has got two offers from graduate programs of math, USC and UMN. He told me that he is going to accept the one from USC and the reason is that he don’t plan to do research work after gain his PhD degree, and LA has better working opportunity.
I just don’t understand why he rejects a top 20 school to go to USC, which is only ranked about 50. Is USC really that appealing?</p>
