Is versatility a bane?

???
It’s well understood that to get in the top colleges one has to be good in a feild.
I have plenty of ECs at various levels, national, inter_school fests, international (not boasting!)in a variety of fields (Painting, documentary moviemaking, web designing, yoga, computer programming, science project), but i am involved in so many activities that i can’t focus on one in my application. I know that when you write down your achievements, you try to show them how good you are at a particular activity instead of two or three activities. But a single EC activity may not do the trick for me. So my question is- Is it not fine to list down
achievements in various activities ? (because that displays your versatility)

Contrary to your fears, versatility is preferred to singularity. Colleges wants well-rounded students who can contribute to the diversity of their campuses.

IMO, colleges usually want a wellrounded class made of specialists, not wellrounded students. However, true versatility is one of the greatest specialties. So, again IMO, if you’re going the versatility path you have to be extremely good at it and have a theme. Like maybe knowing some of everything allows you to lead and orchestrate situations very well? That’s a much needed skill.

I feel the same way, but wanted to know if others felt the same.Could you predict my chances?
