whats the full back door link? all the links i see have a “…”

K, so my status has been the april 1st/11th one throughout the whole time, I wasn’t ASKED for grades, but I sent them because I got straight A’s, my status has never changed…what do y’all think

freaking,

just clik those links with the “…” and then just ctrl c it from the browser bar.

What is the exact link to the backdoor method. I tried the one’s on here and all I get is a blank page. Does this mean rejection?

Never mind. I just checked and no file was found under my name. Goodbye USC…

wait, if wave 3 is this week, does that mean spring admits are next week for sure? or are there still fall admits to be expected next week?

Doing the backdoor method is not the most accurate way of determining your acceptance. As you may know, the best way of determining your acceptance is to wait for the package itself. I know it’s hard to wait, but it’s worthwhile.

As to the waves, please refer to the following timeline.

To clarify, I’ll give a general timeline of the waves, so there won’t be any confusion.

First Wave (Late January to Early February): Acceptances to Trustee and Presidential scholarship candidates

First Wave and a Half (Early February): Acceptances to students who received the Dean’s Scholarship

About a week after the first wave, a letter will be sent out to those who were not included in the first wave, but applied by the scholarship deadline. This letter states that the applicant was denied scholarship, but is still being considered for regular admission.

[~3.5 +/- 0.5 weeks later]

Second Wave (Mid March): Acceptances to those who were denied scholarship, but applied by the scholarship deadline, and to those who applied by the regular admission deadline.
(Please Note: Not all applicants will be notified by the second wave. USC has a record number of applicants this year. It takes time to go through each and every application thoroughly and carefully.)

Third Wave (Mid to Late March): The rest of the acceptances will be sent out.
(Please Note: If you are not included in the third wave, DO NOT PANIC! You still have a shot at USC, but it will probably be Spring Admit)

Third Wave and a Half (Late March): Acceptances are sent out to those who were accepted to attend USC in the Spring of 2011.

Fourth and Final Wave (Very Late March to Early April): Rejections are sent out. Although the applicant may be rejected, he or she can still appeal the decision.

Hopefully this will clarify some questions about the waves.

JoisonFire: Just because there was no file found under your name doesn’t mean you have to give up on USC. You never know…there is still a wave coming out this friday (if USC follows the exact same schedule like last year) and another wave next week for spring admits. So, PLEASE do not give up hope.

thanks AppleWater. so i was just checking the calendar…would you consider next week to be part of the 3rd wave as well? or is this week the last of it?

Okay, I know the third wave may be kind of confusing so I’ll break it down for you. If USC does follow the same exact schedule as last year then it should look like this.

March 19th (Friday): USC sends out acceptances; this is the third wave.
March 20th (Saturday): Applicants in Southern California (Los Angeles County and San Diego County etc.) will receive acceptances
March 21st (Sunday): Unfortunately, there is no mail on Sundays.
March 22nd (Monday): Applicants in Northern California will receive acceptances.
March 23rd - March 25th (Tuesday - Thursday): Applicants from all over the country will receive acceptances.
March 26th (Friday): USC sends out Fall 2010 Acceptances and Spring 2011 (Spring Admit) Acceptances.
After March 26th: Rejections.

Thanks Applewater! You give me hope. Now I must wait.

Been forwarded since february, links give errors

once again, thanks AppleWater. very helpful =)

same, cowman809… :(

My status changed to this one on 3/15 (Monday), which I think is weird. Didn’t most status changes happen on Friday the 12th since that was when USC sent out acceptances for the first wave? The status before was the “forwarded” one which was stuck there for quite a while.

“Your application is being reviewed by the admission committee. We will mail notification of their decision by April 1. If for some reason you don’t receive our written notice, we will be happy to provide the results over the phone beginning April 11th.”

So um… I’m just curious:
If you don’t get into USC, what’s your backup plan?
I’m probably gonna either appeal it, or transfer later on.
Either way, I gotta go to USC; USC is where I belong.

Eumuzik: It means USC is “touching” your application as in they are looking at your application.

Gratification: Getting in as a transfer is a lot easier than getting in as a freshman.

@Grat - how do you appeal??? LOL

Your rejection letter will give you the instructions on how to appeal.

If you get rejected, there’s instructions on how to appeal the decision in the letter.
Last year, on CC, 2-5 people said that their appeal worked.

if my friends status is not forwarded yet (its in review) its starting to look like hes not in this wave, and the next admit wave is apparantly (according to some post…i hope im wrong) for spring admits. SO does no forwarded (or forwarded then review) mean Rejection/Spring admit…no chance for fall??? THIS IS DEVASTATING!!!
