Is writing about culture overdone?

<p>As the title of the thread states, do a lot of applicants write about their own culture (particularly the international ones)?</p>

<p>Just like they’ve read about a lot of mission trips to Mexico they’ve also read a lot about culture/ ovecomng cultural differences, but it’s also because they read thousands upon thousands of essays every year. Whatever you write, just make sure it’s important to you, then worry about originality.</p>

<p>better to write an illuminating vignette that shows YOU in the context of your culture. Adcoms don’t want to read about your culture…they can go to wikipedia for that. They want to read about YOU.</p>
