Is "Your place within it" equal to "How it impacts you?"

Choose one of the communities to which you belong, and describe that community and your place within it. (Approximately 250 words)

is that the same as asking how the community has affected/influenced your life?</p>

<p>you place withing it seems to point more toward how you fit into it and how you contribute to it. More like how you affect it, but I would be fine to also include impact on you.</p>
