Is your school open or closed to the public?

Is your school open or closed to the public? Some schools are completely open, others make you show your ID upon entering every building. Also mention what school you go to.

Thanks.

I go to Umich and most of it is open to the public, everything except the res halls I believe.

Tufts- I think everything except for residence halls is open

Open, except for the dorms and the gym. And starting at aruond 6pm on Friday and Saturday nights there’s a security check at the front entrance.

Mostly open…but dorms, gym, dining hall and such require your ID.

OP is a terrorist >.>

VT is open campus, but to get into the residence halls you have to swipe your ID.

“OP is a terrorist >.>”

LOL.

It is weird they want people to list the college…

so shady…

I’m pretty sure you can walk on the campus at [almost?] every school. I am equally pretty sure that all residence buildings require some type of school ID to get in.

well I like to take classes for free sometimes. Some schools have ID checks at nearly every building, others don’t. Im interested in nyc and Boston schools also.

Uh how do you take classes for free? LOL. You mean sneak into classes?

and the username is “member”. Don’t want to be nasty, but, just saying…

:P

And OP, you’re scouting which schools to take “free classes” from? Haha that’s hilarious.

You can cross NYU off your list, OP. Unless of course you want to partake in the shabbat dinner. That costs some dough.

i just like to continually learn and like going to school. id go for ever if I could. I cant afford to go for ever, but alot of schools really don’t care if you sit in on classes.

I think they do care. A lot.

they probably would care if they knew you weren’t paying

the majority of schools put lectures online now. I highly doubt they are concerned with giving away the material` without a fee. all I am getting out of it is the knowledge, im not getting credit for it or putting any excess work on faculty.

I know I need a key to get into my hall and my dorm room (which automatically locks). A passcode is needed to get into the res hall though. As far as places where I have to show ID, the fitness center and cafeteria are the only places I’ve encountered so far.

Rice is for the most part open to the public. I’m sure res halls get tricky though but I’ve never been in one.
