Issue with pre-high school SAT Scores

Hey CC, I took the SAT in 7th grade for a summer program, but its very low (1650) compared to my SAT now (2360). I always thought that pre-high school scores don’t matter but when I try sending my scores to Columbia, which requires all tests, it forces me to send the 1650. Does anyone else have this problem or know a solution?

Yes and no. My 7th grade score doesn’t appear because I received it in paper form. My 9th grade score, however, will be sent unfortunately.

If you are CERTAIN they are being sent (as CollegeBoard deletes them at the end of your eighth grade year unless you asked them to keep them), put a note in your common app. Don’t recall the section, but there is a place for it. Something like “please disregard SAT scores from 2008, 7th grade score” or something like that. Although they probably will notice the date on them and ignore them anyway.

They’ll see the date and understand. Nothing to worry about. It’s very common, since a lot of kids take one in middle school for CTY and similar programs.
