I’m having trouble using the site on my iPhone (Safari browser) after last night’s update. The pages scroll too aggressively, making it nearly impossible to navigate to a specific post.
For example, when I open a thread, it immediately scrolls all the way to the bottom. If I try to scroll up to read the latest post, it jumps several posts too far - and all the way to the top in shorter threads. Scrolling back down has the same issue: it skips past everything and lands at the bottom again.
This behavior makes the site very difficult to use. I’m not sure if this issue is specific to me or my phone, or if other users are experiencing it too - possibly on other devices as well.
Same for me on my iPhone. Any thread longer than one reply was unreadable for me. When I click on the blue button with the number of new replies, instead of taking me to the post, it took me to the bottom of the forum rules. I couldn’t use the scroll function at all.
I initially thought it was better on my computer but it’s also doing the same thing for me and I can’t get to any of the current posts. I had a heck of a time even getting back to my own post to edit my message.
I’ve never tried accessing this site via Chrome (on my Mac) but I did just now to check if it behaved differently. Weirdly, I don’t see a login button at all. I don’t know if that’s related to the update or not.
Is this a phone issue only? I’m using my ipad (and safari), and am only experiencing the usual jumping around. I.e. I’ll be reading a thread and for no reason the thread jumps up to posts from days before. But this has been happening for a long while.
I just went to my iPhone and I see what you all mean. I was trying to read the thread about Tufts and WL…and the page was hopping all around. Jumped to the end, then jumped up to 21 hours ago.
agree, on my iPhone…impossible to use.
PLUS, I wrote a response to this thread on my iPhone and it doesn’t appear here! And on my phone, this thread is impossible to deal with.
I have flagged the issue as top priority and our dev team and Discourse are both looking into fixing it asap. I will keep you updated when I have news.
As an FYI, I am having the same issue on my mobile, but am able to use the site fine on my Mac.
This morning the site on my iphone and iPad is jumping around. Unable to read posts in sequence. They skip and go to random posts or drops to the bottom, but if I try to scroll up it jumps to a few posts from the top. I can’t really do a screenshot because it’s a problem with it jumping around rather than it being static. It didn’t happen on the computer, but it is happening on the phone and iPad. Is anyone else having this issue?
We have pushed a fix out that seems to have fixed the problem (at least for me). Can you all please check and report if there’s still anything else going on?
