We saved $$ on gas and groceries.
Take out 3-4 times a week, about normal rate.
Will be saving $$ on vacations
But apparently my entire April paychecks had gone to donations to various places. DH asked if I want to know March data, I said NOOOO.
Right now we spent more than before COVID due to donations. But at year end we may just be even because we will save a lot on travels.
Give them a call now, as a “former” subscriber they may want you back. It’s funny they wouldn’t budge, I’ve been doing this for several years now and each time I can get a 6mos package for $40 or so total. Maybe if the 1st agent won’t budge wait a few hours and call back to try someone else. A web search right now shows they have a 6mos for $30 offer, I’d try for that.
“Saving” at least for now
I have only filled my gas tank once since mid-March, and probably didn’t really need to.
I canceled my husband’s 60th bday trip to Italy, and haven’t made any new vacation plans (we usually do 3-5 week long or more trips per year)
Not eating out much (once a week curbside pickup now)
Haven’t had a hair cut since February
Haven’t spent as much on clothes as I would have if I were going in to work every day
“Spending more”
Donation/feeding the front line workers (not sure if that’s a donation or just an expense)
Curbside pickup from restaurants - we give large tips to try and help some of our favorites stay in business
Groceries - I normally Partially plan what we’re buying around what’s on sale, but now I have to take whatever pickup time I can get, and don’t know what’s on sale during that time. We have spent a lot more than normal on groceries.
Wine - we normally limit ourselves to drinking mostly weekends, but now every day is a weekend (we don’t drink every day, but more than we used to).
We adopted an adorable little Bengal kitten. I thought of waiting until retirement, but the breeder was retiring after 25+ years, and had one of her last kittens become available, so I “had” to take her.
