<p>"It’s been a whirlwind year for Scranton Prep senior Kate Scarpetta. </p>

<p>"Playing the best golf of her career, she reached the third round of match play at the United States Junior Girls championship in North Carolina.</p>

<p>"She was third in the state junior, reached the quarterfinals of the state women’s open, qualified for the U.S. Women’s Amateur, and won her third District 2 girls golf championship.</p>

<p>"After finishing seventh in the PIAA championship, she was the first girl named to The Times-Tribune All-Region golf team.</p>

<p>"All those accolades and now Scarpetta can put one more notch in her belt. She’s decided to continue her golf career at Princeton University.</p>

<p>“My whole last year, with this to cap it off, has been amazing,” Scarpetta said. “I couldn’t ask for anything better.”</p>

<p>"She turned down full scholarships from Penn State, Michigan, Maryland, Kansas and Texas Christian, finally picking Princeton from her final choices of Yale and Michigan.</p>

<p>“I liked all the coaches, but the girls at Princeton seem like the kind of girls you want to play golf with. I’m going to be with them for four years. Not to take anything away from all the others. This was the best fit.</p>
