Willing to share what your one habit is, @powercropper ?
If you give a procrastinator who hates mornings any flexibility in their work schedule, you are likely to end up with a lot of wasted time each morning. Drinking coffee, reading cc, and other time wasters really add up. The answer is to choose to wake up, shower and get dressed First, before you even pick up your phone or get that first cup of coffee.
My habit is to be showered and dressed before 8 am each day. This is a huge commitment for me, and will benefit me greatly working from home.
For those morning people out there who are out running at 6 am, or who have to start your commute at 6 am, I know my habit seems so minor. But to me, it is a huge deal and I am taking it one day at a time.
BTW, I am married to a morning person. He is kind and does not hassle me about my lack of enthusiasm for mornings.
My 2017 habit is to make a point of getting rid of some bit of household litter/clutter every day. Whether that’s a big sorting/purging project or just a cleared desktop or some odd bit of debris will depend on the day, but the idea is to do something that goes beyond daily maintenance every single day, even if only for a few minutes, and end the year with (significantly) less clutter, along with the space it takes up in my psyche.
Key opportunities for same will be those times I normally spend online, refreshing the website du jour.
I think that sounds huge, @powercropper. I am considering an exercise class that will require me to be 20 mins away t 6:30 a.m. Ugh.
@powercropper - that is so me! I’m considering joining a local YMCA for a class that a friend has told me about. The big problem is it is at 8 am. Usually at 8 am I am in bed having my coffee reading CC and the news.
@veryhappy, I will try those calcium gummies next. Right now I’m taking the other ones that show up on Costco’s site (not kirkland) and they’re really pretty awful.
@powercropper, your goal makes sense to me! Best of luck.
How are you doing working towards your goal? I have made my goal 10 days out of 17 days so far. Been close to goal 2 more days, and the rest I chose to blow off goal for needed rest when sick, and chose to blow off Saturday mornings completely. Once I gave up on being Perfect, I have done well with my attitude change, and just working on logistics.
I am writing to encourage each of you. There is still time this month to make progress towards your goal. You can do it!
I’m doing fairly well, although that’s also because school has started up again and my resolution is also usually my homework :D. Gotta do it!

Any gummie or small pill recs for either iron or glucosomine?? I bought some but they like to choke me.
Nature Made iron pils are really tiny… Do they still cause issues? With glucosamine, Cosamin DS comes in fhe form of capsules ($$$!), they are easier to swallow than those big, somewhat cheaper uncoated pills. I take my supplements with yogurt - they are easier to swallow that way.
My update:
I am now up to running 3.3 miles (outside) and 3.67 (treadmill). Working my way up slowly to prevent injury.
Started lifting small dumbbells and have done that every other day ![]()
Doing well on my daily fitness log and have included weight training as well as yoga in addition to the mileage logs.
Got one room cleaned out last weekend.
Not a bad start!
Good for you @FallGirl!!
@FallGirl like a boss! ^:)^
