And this handy website proves it.

[I could [not] care less](<a href=“http://incompetech.com/gallimaufry/care_less.html]I ”>I could [not] care less )

From now on anybody who honestly thinks that “I could care less” is the correct term will be considered one rank above dog feces in my book.

Tell me about it. “I could care less” is in the Oxford dictionary as an idiomatic phrase. They should be so lucky to be considered dog feces.

Wow…someone was bored.

He could care less what you think

Hopefully they haven’t included “fo shizzle” as an idiomatic phrase.

who cares… you understand what they mean.

THANK YOU for this. I always hated “could care less”

That’s as far as I got. Redundancy in the first sentence? I just can’t trust this source.

Haha, I would always hear people say “I could care less” and I would be like “Oh, so you do care?”

I always assumed that there was an implied ‘if I was dead’ tacked to the end of ‘I could care less’.

I never understand when people say this, either. But they could be speaking sarcastically, as in, “you’re lucky I care the little I do.” I also hate when people type “I could of…” NO! It’s “I could’ve…”

Try telling that to any person in the real world and see how many friends you make.

Applicannot, did you read the link? They address the sarcasm thing. And yeah, “I could of” makes me rage as well. How the hell do people not learn this stuff in school?

@Pandem cool story bro

Thank you - this is my pet peeve!!! Also “I am waiting on you” when trying to say “I am waiting for you”. I know - I should get a life!

To wait on someone generally implies that you’re their waiter.

Or that you are on top of them. For one reason or another.

Taken literally, “I could not care less” sounds like you really, really care. As in, your caring level is at maximum. You really could not care any less.

There’s a difference between could and would. You can care less even if you care so much that you’d never back down. You simply won’t.
