It's gameday! Predictions please!

What to you think the score of the game is going to be? My personal opinion is Ohio State 40 Florida 13. This is not even going to be close. My boy Justin Zwick should even see some playing time. Let’s get your predictions!

I was confused - the Eagles played yesterday. That was game day here!

It’s gameday? The Rose Bowl is over. Did you miss it?

Seahawks played Saturday- on to Chicago!

Ohio State loses, leaving two undefeated co-national champions!

Boise State and Williams College.

“Yard by yard, we’ll fight our way…”

Is BSU playing again?

Otherwise it’s kinda boring football.

In thinking about this post and the fact that I really have no major interest in this game I wonder if this may be indicatitive of why a playoff system may have a hard time getting off the ground. College football fans have been conditioned to equate the end of the season with the bowl games on Jan. 1. They may have been tolerant of extending the season a day ot two to put the BCS championship game last on the schedule. However, this year a full week has elapsed since New Years Day and, by now, my football thinking has moved exclusively to the NFL playoffs.

I might tune into the game for a bit, but, not being a Florida or OSU fan, it just doesn’t equate to must-see-TV for me. I wonder if I am the only one thinking like this.

Nope. I don’t like either team at all. I’m also kind of burned out after the deadful Sugar Bowl & disappointing Giants game yesterday. Although Tom Brady came through big time, so I have more of him to look forward to.

Don’t really care which team wins but I will watch. I’m kinda thinking Ohio will win. Wow, their quarterback is amazing!

mini, maybe they should schedule a game ;)

Opie, I’ve seen countless BSU games and although they are definitely great, most of their games are not nearly as thrilling as the Fiesta Bowl. That was a magical game.

My Deacs lost in the Orange Bowl, alas…that was the only game I really cared about.

But I’ll still watch tonight. Go Gators. I hate Ohio State.

My feelings exactly. While rooting for the Giants, I can’t help but feel that their one-and-done dispatch from the playoffs was akin to a mercy killing - they really have not played liked a team that should advance in the playoffs. However, I’m a huge Tom Brady fan and love to see him and the Pats do well. However, I dread to see what Shawn Merriman will do to him this Sunday.

Not the blowout Joev envisions: OSU 24, Fla 17.

BTW, the lack of game changing performers, like Vince Young, Reggie Bush, Leinert, and both teams coming into last years game undefeated, may be leading to the blah attitude expressed by some of the above^^. That said I predict the TV ratings will be down from the game last year.

“mini, maybe they should schedule a game.”

Nah, I think co-national champions is good enough…

"through Amherst line,
Every man in every way
Fight all the time…for W-I-L-L-I-A-M-S,
Cheer on cheer…

Mini, quick OT question for you. Were you at Williams with Bill Finn? I always mean to ask you when I see you mention Williams but then I usually get involved in the discussion taking place, and I forget! Having nothing to add about this game, I thought I’d ask you now. :)

I think he was a freshman when I was a senior.

Thanks for thread jacking me talking about Williams football. Back to predictions of how much you think Ohio State will win by!

“Opie, I’ve seen countless BSU games and although they are definitely great, most of their games are not nearly as thrilling as the Fiesta Bowl. That was a magical game.”

Well, I’ve got the huskies (UW) locally, so what do you expect. A sandwich is a feast of a meal to someone not used to having food.

Plus our pro team is testing to see if they can cause Holmgren to stroke out on the field. They could make it easy but who needs to play well all the time? Where’s the fun in that?

Da Bears are going down, maybe big for once this season. Maybe Alexander will finish a run or two. We can only hope.

As I said, I think OSU will lose, leaving the co-national champions. ;)

Gotta stick up for DS’s school!

GO GATORS!!!

After seeing the ritual dismemberment of Michigan in the Rose Bowl, and the twin miracles of the Seahawks/Cowboys and Boise State/Oklahoma, tonight’s game is destined to be a giant anti-climatic snoozefest.

Score? I dunno. Howabout OSU over Florida 42-28?

Edit: Not that I’m hoping for this result. Sweetness would be Florida 50, OSU 3.
