<p>There’s no better choice out there. Every VP candidate has their flaws and Biden adequately addresses Obama’s biggest flaw, lack of experience.</p>
<p>Biden is the Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee and was the chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee for 7 years. He’s been serving on it for two decades.</p>
<p>He can also be very tough which is a necessity for a VP. But the way he’s tough is great. He’s always smiling and you can tell he’s a good person. He and McCain are friends.</p>
<p>Yes, Biden said some things about Obama but with rumors coming out about McCain picking Romney, Romney and McCain had an uglier battle than Obama/Biden. Obama/Hillary was the real fight and as you can see he didn’t pick her.</p>
<p>I’m really glad Obama picked Biden. Biden’s one of the few democrats who isn’t afraid to say what he thinks. The only other one that comes to mind that was in the primaries is Dennis Kucinich. Biden is pretty controversial, but I like that.</p>
<p>It’s way better to **** some people off than to never take a position and be a complete ■■■■■ on every issue.</p>
<p>All in all, I don’t know really know if it’ll help Obama. Even though the Obama presidency is more appealing now, I know it won’t be very different than if he had picked a different VP.</p>

This was BY FAR the smartest choice for the sake of winning the election. Sure they hate eachother, and it would erase this message of “Change” but for the sake of controlling the oval office it would be worth it.

An Obama Clinton would unify the party, bring those voters back, and help in some key states in which Hillary kicked Barack’s ass in during the primaries (Pennsylvania). <p>I agree with you to an extent, and believe me the same train of thought passed through my mind. </p>
<p>But, on the other hand, there is a huge constigency of people out there (both liberal and conservative) who absolutely loathe the Clintons, and have a personal vendeta against them, for reasons I don’t quite understand. There are plenty of people who wanted a democratic president, but flocked over to Obama in order to ensure that it wasn’t Hillary. So while Obama choosing Hillary would land him the votes of Hillary supporters, he’d also probably lose the votes of all those Clinton-haters and he’d be back at square one. </p>
<p>I hope Obama wins this campaign, but I would have been happy with Hillary too. In all honesty, I can’t really see anything that really differentiates them based on their political viewpoints; they’re pretty similar. Anyway, I’ve never been able to comprehend why people have such an intense hatred for the Clinton family.</p>

I really do not know what Dems are doing, this election should have been thiers hand down. First they pick Obama, who if anybody saw the Democrats, was a VERY weak person. When he was placed up by clinton she went balls out and attacked, staring right in his face. And every time Barak would look at the ground and mumble about change. This was a terrible decision, not only does this cut off those VERY wealthy friends of Clinton, but also does nothing to combine the party whatsoever, meaning that there is a lower probability that individuals will contribute.

The fact that he finished last does not really matter, to make tough decisions, I would much rather have a man who when given the opportunity to leave a POW camp, decided to stay for 5 years. Why? Critical thinking on the part of displaced aggression (which I specifically state on the very first post in the thread) would be that the thread is not so much a justification of AA, but rather a justification for minorities who are vicariously attacked by attacking a policy that they themselves had almost no impact on.</p>

I posted that Obama’s picking Biden, causes an alienation and a obvious weighing that I was implicating is that the negatives that Clinton would bring would not outwiegh the positives: 1) Donors, 2) Unity, 3) Galvinazation of the base. All of which would have been huge draws to the convention and would have lead to more individual donors contributing during the convention. But now Biden highlights the division, bc Clinton and Bill are present in abundance at the convention with a total of 3 days. Many ppl are not going to watch all the convention, but the analysis of reporters is what they will hear, ppl will hear about the possibilty of division and that will be what sticks, to be honest one can not accurately measure if this divisiveness will impact the election, but by the degenerative impact on donations (which will more than likely happen) it will only hurt.</p>

Also conservatism generally falls under two categories:economic and social. I am a very social conservative and therefore very Republican and consider my self to be Very conservative. I disagree on some economic aspects of conservatism i.e. I think government should intervene when it is in the best interest of the ppl and if you know about pure conservatism, that goes against lassie faire. Edmund Burke is more indicative of the economic conservatism which many academic conservatives uphold. But Jerry Falwell (a great American) is more indicative of the most galvanized base of the Republican party. I am of the latter affliation.
