It's March 1, which decisions are you waiting for??!!

Son is waiting on Drexel and that is it, Cuse came in last week so he is only waiting for one. Good luck to all.

Son just reminder me he is waiting on Tulane , forgot about that one, he applied back in NOV and it has been out of sight , out of mind.

@ProverbialHorse I emailed LAMDA 1 week ago yesterday, as it had then been 7 weeks since my NYC audition. They responded the next day, which was 1 week ago today. "
Rodney returned from America last week so we are processing all our American applicant results over the coming weeks and hope to be in touch very soon." Of course now I’m sure corona virus is delaying things further but surely within 1-2 more weeks!! Recalls overseas are out of the question now, or even in NYC, so it’s either flat rejection, flat acceptance, or video/Skype recall.

Thanks so much for sharing! I assumed that things were postponed a bit because of the current pandemic, but receiving that little bit of info is reassuring.

I wonder what a Skype recall would look like? I had a callback for another school “postponed or reimagined,” and I’ve got a Zoom audition for a show on Friday–strange times!

If it’s of any use, I did Skype recalls with 2 schools, before all the Corona virus thing started. And I received offers from both. (3 year BA Acting.) So be of good cheer that it’s totally possible. For Rose Bruford, it was with just 1 gentleman, David Zoob, and he had me do my Shakespeare and my modern and gave me redirection on the modern. The video was terribly grainy and yet I still got in. (Got that acceptance email this morning actually.) For Drama Studio London, it was just an interview with 3 people- head of school and 2 department heads. Again very poor quality video with connection problems- we actually switched to phone halfway through- but still I got in. I’m trying to share this around so everyone who hasn’t auditioned yet can have confidence and cheer up. I shared it elsewhere but someone was rude to me so I deleted my posts… These teachers have been auditioning students for decades and they’ll absolutely be able to see what they need from videos/Skypes. Oh, Royal Birmingham had me submit a follow up video, haven’t heard back from them yet. I’m feeling like they don’t even bother requesting

Good to know! I have a friend who had a Skype recall at East 15, and she got in, too, so I suppose these things can work out!

Congrats to you! It looks like you have some decisions to make (yay)! We obviously haven’t heard from LAMDA yet (ha), but are you leaning in a particular direction based on the programs you’ve been admitted to?

Thank you! Ugh it’s a difficult decision. People have raved about East 15 but my heart is with DSL… E15 is too huge. How about you, any offers?

Yeah! East 15, Rose Bruford (I declined already, because I felt bad holding on to more than two offers at the same time), Brooklyn College, and waitlisted at DePaul. Waiting to hear from a couple others. I didn’t end up auditioning for RADA, Central, or Bristol Old Vic, but now I kind of wish I had!

What draws you to Drama Studio London?

Hm interesting that we both got into 2 of the same schools. Granted RB and E15 very much cater to international students…

DSL feels warm, friendly, homey, SMALL- the next best thing to RADA. Only 130 students there across all courses and years. They only do drama, not a bunch of other majors. They went out of their way to accommodate me for auditions- after seeing my video they arranged for one of their American alumnae to meet me specifically in NYC on a weekend I was already there. I’m already a fan of a few of their alumni- I know who they are- whereas East 15, I don’t even recognize any of their people. And I’d be one of only a very small handful of international students which means I’d really be immersed in British culture which is important to me. I just feel… happy when I think of DSL, but not any other school. If I got into LAMDA I’d dutifully go because I’d be stupid not to. Also as an American who will probably have to grudgingly come back to the US eventually after graduation, “Drama Studio London” on my resume is extremely DESCRIPTIVE. It’s right there in the name. That’s unfortunately something I have to consider. I literally had a friend ask “what’s an East 15?”! Finally- E15 and RB are pretty far outside the city, albeit in idyllic pastoral settings. I’m taking a hell of a risk and spending a ton of money to move to London and not ACTUALLY move to LONDON- you know? I want to be a few minutes from shows, agents, auditions, classes at other schools, friends and family who may fly in to visit… Everything. Wow that was long, I may have convinced myself haha! I know what you mean about feeling guilty holding several offers- I almost politely declined my RB recall but decided no, I’d spent a lot to audition, I deserved to know the ultimate outcome. How about you, which are you leaning towards?!?

I should figure out how to just private message you and @eunamanu so I don’t annoy anyone else.

I almost don’t want to jinx anything by writing it out!

I actually applied to graduate programs, which I don’t think I’ve said yet. I was recruited by E15, RB, Brooklyn College, and CSU Long Beach through URTA (CSU Long Beach is the school that sadly postponed our callbacks, and I’m VERY interested in their program).

Out of the two UK schools I was admitted to, I was more excited by E15 because I have a friend going AND it’s a less expensive program. Brooklyn College is in New York, so all of that networking can happen right away. It seems to be very affordable, to boot. CSU’s program is in Acting Pedagogy and helps with teaching placement at a university level, which would be invaluable for financial stability. Plus, I just get a great vibe from them.

I still have a handful to hear from (LAMDA, USD Old Globe, DePaul waitlist), and I also have a partner who is applying to programs and waiting on answers, so I’m trying not to get too excited about one particular program until we both have more info!

Stanford (Apr 1)

Still waiting on Vandy, Rice, Carleton, Colby, and Haverford

Has anyone given up waiting on answers, due to the schools being shut down during the corona virus, and gone ahead and panic-accepted one of the offers they already have?? Just to be safe, even if it’s not your first choice?? I’m waiting to hear back from LAMDA and Royal Birmingham, but have 3 perfectly good offers from Drama Studio London, East 15, and Rose Bruford. I emailed LAMDA a second time yesterday, even at the risk of annoying them- I need a result. It’s been 2 weeks since I emailed them last and 9 since my audition.
