<p>ok so, today was the last day UCD would accept any appeals.
I sent in my appeal yesterday for an over night delivery to Davis.
I just tracked my letter and it said that someone tried to deliver my letter… but I guess no one was there. So they left a notice…
Does that mean my chances are over and that I wasted $14??

<p>I finally got through and spoke to someone.
Apparently the appeals office didn’t want the letters to be sent to the address they have listed on their website.

The representative said that the office should recieve my letter in a couple of days… and she is not sure if the appeals committee will accept it.
I did everything I was suppose to…
and even then I might not get a chance to be reconsidered.

<p>I would still try to contact someone directly in the appeals office. It seems very unfair to have incorrect infomation from the web site counted against you. If there is no way to speak directly with them I would send snail mail to the address you were supposed to send the appeal to. (do you know where to get the correct address now)? </p>

When I received the rejection letter, I was disappointed.
In my mind, I was headed for UCSC…
So, I came to accept that.
But, over spring break I came to my senses…
I couldn’t let my top choice school slip away.
That week, I wrote the letter with constant revisions.
I finished with what I thought was a pretty good letter.
But, before sending it, I wanted my English teacher to look it over.
On Monday and Tuesday he wasn’t there, so I gave the letter to my other teachers.
They all said it was really good…
I would have sent my letter right then, but I trust the opinion of my English teacher more.
When he came back on Wednesday, he read the letter and said it was good but I could do better.
I revised it again that night and on Thursday I sent it out for an over night delivery to Davis.</p>
<p>That’s what happened… and the letter is not there yet…</p>
<p>Damn that sucks that it’s not there yet. If you have proof that it’s sent before the deadline such as USPS certified mail receipt and let the school know about it, I think they would honor that. Or did they say that appeals have to be received in their hands by 4/13?</p>
<p>There’s only 2 weeks left until the SIR deadline. Do you know when Davis announce their appeal decisions? </p>

On the website it said that they want the letters by April 13…
but in the letter that I am going to send, I will include the receipt from the USPS.

And I did get into other schools but they aren’t as good as UCSC or UCD.
So, that’s why I came to conclusion that I might go to UCSC.</p>
<p>If you send the original usps receipt to them, make sure you photocopy it for your records as backup just in case. Also, here is the full list of every admissions advisors at the UC Davis admissions office. </p>
<p>I had some serious paperwork error with my TAA back in November due to someone at their engineering department making a mistake which first got my TAA denied. So I contacted around 5 different admissions advisors on the website list to correct my situation. They were all very helpful. One admissions lady there even got the head supervisor involved, and they set up a meeting to correct an error that the school made and overturn the decision on my TAA, which is very rarely done.</p>
<p>Just call random people on the list to try to get your situation worked out. It doesn’t matter if you call more than 1 person there because each one of them have their own separate office there, so none of them will ever know that others in the same department were contracted concerning the same situation. If you’re lucky, one of them might be able to provide you with more info or better contacts in the appeals committee. I know that the admissions office do have some authority to get things done, but the only trick is finding that one person there that’s willing to take that extra step to help you, like I was able to find months ago.</p>
<p>I believe the lady mainly responsible for helping me fix the error and getting me accepted into UC Davis was named Tracy Yu-Santos. She was extremely helpful and very caring. You might want to call her first.</p>

TAA= Transfer Admission Agreement</p>
<p>TAA is transfer admissions agreement. It’s like a pre-application guranteed admissions contract for transfer students. </p>
<p>I don’t think the admissions office is open on Sundays. With the info you provided and the proof that you have, I think you have a very valid case. Just don’t give up, and talk to as many different Davis representatives as you can since they may offer different answers, and some may have better connections within the school. You might get lucky and find someone willing to handle your situation and personally help you out. Good luck.</p>

<p>First let me apologize for not responding more quickly. If you can imagine it is a little busy in the office. Second, (530) 752-2971 is the proper number for the office. Im not sure why you didnt get connected to one of our public admissions advisers. Finally, due to certain circumstances the campus mail division was closed last Friday April 13, 2007. Any mail sent to the campus address would have been stopped at a locked door. We are aware of this issue and any package or letter that was supposed to be delivered on Friday but, was delivered on Monday instead will be considered on-time.</p>
