It's "Summer"! Whatcha Going To Do This Weekend?!

The weather is warm most places now and many/most schools are out! Not officially summer on the calendar but “summer” in our hearts and minds, right?

Thought it might be fun to read about any fun weekend plans people will be participating in. Get others motivated to do the same!

So whatcha doing? Cooking out? Spending time near the water? Having a garage sale? Graduation parties? Lounging in your own yard - or just doing yard work?

I have a little yard work to complete - one more garden bed to weed and a little more mulch to put down. Planning on some reading time on the chaise lounge. Sunday planning to sun and swim at my brothers pool and apparently just invited to celebrate his wife’s b-day that was this week with a cook out and good old fashioned games! Can’t wait!

Detailing precast concrete sills, lintels, and banding for a huge school in Massachusetts. Whoo hoo!

Well, S is in England hanging out with a good friend and sightseeing. None of the rest of us can beat that!
D is writing an English paper (I hope) and working.
I am going to work on finishing a quilt for D’s nephew (her half brother’s new baby - that his her birthmom’s son from another dad). It is all done but I have to quilt it and it will be the first quilt I have done by myself on my machine. I’m also getting with S’s girlfriend and her mom to make paper flowers for her graduation party photobooth backdrop. She was sweet and held off on her party until S is back from England.
Husband is playing golf and doing yardwork! I just hope he doesn’t drill another hole in his finger!

Ocean City, MD.

Concert at indoor/outdoor venue tonight (Paul Simon/Sarah McLaughlin) and graduation party tomorrow.
I am responsible for picking up the cake and the barbecue stuff (pulled pork, etc.) for the party, so the pressure is on.

Painting the master bedroom of our “new” house! I heart painting when I have good paint and all needed tools. Too bad the outside can’t be painted yet because the siders are still working on it.

Got back last Friday from a 10 day car trip to cooler IN and WI from FL. Another month or more until WA and CA trip. Finished yard/house chores by now. Retired. Summer heat and rain- plan to go to the gym and read… indoors. Five years now and adjusted to the reverse of good/bad outdoor weather here. Enjoy your weather and foliage everyone!

Family reunion in the Outer Banks, meetup with some cc folks, weekend in NYC, show at Wolf Trap and trip to the midwest to see family. That’s the plans for now!

Birthday party for a friend in a NYC area venue saturday night.

See, such fun stuff to read about! @Fallgirl that doesn’t sound like a weekend that sounds like a vacation!

In one weekend??? (I’m guessing you meant for the summer, but you never know!)

Down the shore in NJ–probably bike, kayak, and enjoy the breezes on the back porch. Throw in some writing, and that’s pretty much my summer. (Also, the stream of visitors who want to share it all.)

Trim the bushes and finish mulching the beds. D is getting married in 3 weeks and we want the yard to look fresh for the pictures. This will be mostly H’s responsibility. Baby shower for neighbor’s son and his wife. I’ve know the dad-to-be since he was 8. Hard to believe he’s going to be a father. Especially hard to believe if you know how mischievous he’s always been.

Visit Art and Street Painting Festival.

Rejoice that Joint Commission visit is over. We worked so well as a team because we care so much to provide safe and quality care.

A lot of wedding stuff for D1: Dress shopping, food tasting at the venue (weekend event). D2 wants to visit some law schools. I would like to visit Mexico City for a long weekend, it has been long over due. Going to wine country this weekend. Summer just seem to go by so fast. I wouldn’t mind being in NYC for few weekends. It is usually a lot quieter than other times.

Biking around the lake I live by today. Driving a couple hours to go hiking tomorrow; moved in the past couple years to a city with lots of nearby mountains and ocean, still exploring.

Out to dinner last night with friends. Sat outside - was a lovely evening for it.

Watching French Open finals and working in my gardens. So much rain haven’t been able to get in there and weed for ages.

Will take dogs on walk later - then watch The Belmont w/ drinks apps out on the deck with friends before/after race.

Uh…I misread the question. That’s my whole summer plan

This weekend? Both kids are here, MIL, SIL and niece will be arriving later today and tomorrow everyone except yours truly leaves for the beach. I have to work Monday and will drive down Tuesday AM.

Oh and H and I are playing euchre tonight.

Beaches and Boating…classic summers: 3Bs and an H - beaches, boating, biking and hiking.

Bringing mom home today from rehab with worse dementia and significant physical decline, thanks to insurance discharge before she’s ready. She was completely independent before this illness. I’m afraid I may now be a full-time caregiver instead of giving occasional assistance.

Had a new grill delivered so am looking forward to grilling again. Our last grill gave up a few years ago.
