IU Early Action Acceptances - Class of 2025

For what it’s worth I got other scholarships

You definitely killed it.

My son got a 2,000$ scholarship from Hutton. He’s in the College of Arts and Sciences and he qualified with a 32 ACT in December of 2020. I tried to get him to go for Kelley DA like his brother, but it wasn’t a desire that he had. He’s a very good writer and in my biased opinion, his essay was stellar. I honestly don’t know what criteria that Hutton uses, but my thought was being in the COAS helped him because the the kids that get admitted to Kelley are very competitive as a whole. So I think that it’s tougher for a kid in Kelley to get a scholarship than it is from a kid in the other schools at IU. Just an opinion. Also, all of you that are headed to Kelley, you will be challenged but also you will enjoy your four years at IU while you are doing it. My oldest son still says that it was the greatest four years of his life. Enjoy😊

Has the Hutton College already announced all of their scholarships? My son was a direct admit to the media school and received a Dean’s scholarship of $8000. He was then told that he was also admitted to Hutton and was asked to apply for Hutton scholarship. He has not heard back anything back from Hutton after he applied for the scholarship. I there a deadline by which they will let him know?

My son was admitted DA to COAS back on Dec 10th. He got $4,000 Provost but nothing from SSA. To rich for our blood.

1550 SAT 35 ACT/36 SS. Great scores on a tons of APs and Math2 and Chemistry subject test.

I keep looking to see if something shows up late.

I wouldn’t chalk it all up to COAS helped. There was something there they liked!

With stats like those, I’m at a total loss on how IU awards scholarships. Your son deserved more than what he received. Wow!!!

I agree but it makes decisions easier for him. It is instate so that would help. Other instate schools have been more generous. He still has a ton of apps out but they are OOS and most are reach schools with crazy price tags.

I really love Bloomington and surrounding area. I want him to see it.
We still have a visit set up.

We don’t live too far from Bloomington and my wife is also a graduate of IU. If he sees the campus he might have a change of heart. He still deserved more from IU. Regardless of where he ends up, there isn’t any doubt that he will do exceedingly well. Good Luck with whatever choice he makes, his future is very bright.

Direct admit COAS here too. Daughter had 1490 and great AP scores. She got 0$ from IU. I thought she did fantastic on supp scholarship essays (great writer). However, we are in state, so maybe they are trying to give money to more OOS kids.

Did anyone else apply to ASURE program? My daughter found out today she is waitlisted

Good job by your daughter!
Where does your daughter want to attend? What was her selected major?

My son selected mathematics as a major. He has no idea where he wants to go. He is a great writer too and recos would not have hurt him.

I got into the ASURE program, but I don’t really know a whole lot about it. Does anyone else have any info? It seems really cool and a great opportunity but I’m not sure.

My daughter got into her first choice ASURE program. She is excited. She has been a little down on IU recently and this definitely helps!

We didn’t know enough about the Asure Program so my son didn’t apply. Programs like Asure involve a lot of work and not being able to directly talk to someone involved with it definitely didn’t help. We pretty much knew that our son was going to IU, but I wished that he’d been able to visit other campuses and at least check out what they had to offer. I’ll be glad when COVID is a thing of the past.

Do you know if IU has adjusted any of the Provost Scholarships yet? If I remember correctly you had stated they were going to revisit those students who had been awarded the 7,000$ and possibly adjust some up to 8,000$. Thanks in advance.

My daughters was adjusted maybe beginning of March and then they added 2 other scholarships too
