Anyone else get the Robert and Joann Dodd scholarship? I got it and it’s not directly related to my field of study and it’s a new scholarship, so I’m a bit confused.
Thanks - but I wasn’t seeking props. I was just sympathizing with those who were frustrated in filling out the SSA and got nothing.
My daughter didn’t fill it out - and then she got this.
Obviously it’s an auto scholarship…but this SSA process is ridiculous. That was my intent 
but appreciate the thanks!!!

After all the essay writing and hoop jumping just for the application process at schools, the last thing my son wanted was to write yet another essay, essays in the case of SSA, I believe. Just give more auto merit at acceptance and save the extra for the really big scholarships. Son liked Kelley’s ACE program’s video essays. 3 questions - 60 second answers to each - 3 tries. He was done in 15 minutes.

My Daughter received a letter inviting her to a scholarship zoom, but we can’t see what scholarship she received. Anyone know where that would be?

IU Hoosier Scholar Celebration? My daughter received the invite as well but I assumed it was from her initial Dean’s Scholarship. She didn’t apply for SSA because she heard almost no one gets one.

Things really shaped up weird for IU scholarships. I’ve been following this forum for a couple years, and it seems as if this year they significantly reduced the amount of scholarship money available. Previous years mentioned that 25% of Hutton scholarship applicants would get a scholarship, whereas this year it was half of that at 12.5%. Not to mention people getting significantly smaller Dean’s and Provost’s scholarships.
My guess is they are trying to recoup their losses during the pandemic by accepting more OOS Kelley students who will pay full freight, and reducing scholarships at the same time. Seems like nearly every petition was accepted this year. But, we’ll never know for sure. In any other year, the majority of you guys would probably get at least something.
If anyone knows the in’s and out’s of the IU site, it’s definitely you. I’ll never totally understand how the universities hand out merit aid. This is our final go around and I’m glad that we are done with it. It worked out better for us this time but I don’t know why.
There are plenty of people who do not study Business at IU. CC and Kelley both attract the more intense students and parents, so that is mostly who is posting on the thread.
My son got accepted to the Chinese Flagship as well. Not Kelly either, but has been chatting with alot of those students on IG
My son received a lower $ amount for Dean’s ($9,000) than my daughter did 5 years ago ($11,000). He had slightly higher stats and since tuition has increased, it’s just not enough with nothing from Hutton. He spent a ton of time on the SSA/essay and nothing. So…he is not going to IU even with lots of legacy in the family.
Where will he choose or is considering? He’ll start a new legacy
If you have not accepted yet, do multiple “Holds” about Orientation appear in the Student Center? Seems to duplicate every time its checked.
Did you daughter hear from JSOM yet?
Sorry - changed to a different user name. Yes, she was accepted to the ballet program. We received notification 2/21 and it sat in her spam for nearly a week before we found it.

Congrats to all attending IU and good luck to those going elsewhere. We really loved the campus but were hoping for at least the 10/11k or so for Dean’s. He got less than half that with direct admit to Kelley, and no invitation to the SSA, which was disappointing. Even at 11k I think we were leaning Miami over IU, but the money made the decision very easy. Two good b-schools so we are excited either way.

For kids accepted into the ACE program…did you also get Hutton Honors College (SSA) money? Is there anyone that got into the ACE program that applied for and didn’t get Hutton SSA money?

But you applied? That surprises me. Top 3-4% for Kelley but not enough for Hutton $. Who’s getting the Hutton merit $ if that doesn’t qualify you…? Hmmmm…
