IU Kelley Petition Tracker 2024

Any updates? Anyone heard back?

My daughter’s portal changed from “Pre-Business” to “Business” on March 5. We still haven’t received any other correspondence. Has this happened to anyone else?

@Dancemomchi Has she contacted Kelley to confirm?

From their site:

Questions?

Contact bschool@iu.edu or 812-855-4474. Please allow three to five business days for a response.

Where in the portal did she see this? When looking in my portal I can’t seem to find anything.

Never mind, it was because I gave my intent to enroll. Does anyone know if I will still be considered for Kelley even though I did my intent to enroll? I went through the petition process.

Are some decisions expected today for review requests?

Friday of spring break for Kelley would be highly historically unusual to release decisions. It’s not like a general admin department where you release on a Friday to provide a parent/kid cool down period. Personally I believe Monday would be more likely than today but I am occasionally wrong.

You will still be considered although I believe their decision 1st shows up in portal with status changing from pre-business to business.

I mean to answer this and got distracted - correct answer. After University admission - the portal change to Business from Pre-business is a software input where the Business School Kelley is considering your application as part of Kelley. It’s possible for Kelley to push that back to pre-biz and it is not an admission input - but is a very good sign. I wouldn’t buy a Kelley T-shirt yet but I’d feel decent about my chances to purchase one very soon.

Thank you. That is interesting. Do you think it’s likely to stay in that status for a long time before a final decision is made?

It is unlikely to revert back so will stay in that status forever in almost all cases. But it is not an admissions input so I caution everyone to limit their portal clues with some level of reality that until Kelley sends you the admit offer - don’t get your hopes up so far that you’ve discovered some admissions clue. And if you still see pre-biz it doesn’t mean you were denied.

Very helpful, thank you. My daughter’s status changed to Business around 3/5, but we have not yet received an admit offer. I really appreciate all of your helpful information.

the timing is correct, Kelley was gearing up to release the week of 3/6 and I don’t know why things ended up delayed. Other than IU is generally delayed with FAFSA and maybe the University asked them to wait until all the RD decisions are out. I very much expect it to be soon - those I know around Kelley are on spring break so I have no new information.

I would feel very very optimistic if my portal said business not pre-biz right now. And I’d feel very pessimistic if it did not. But I wouldn’t dismay either way and there will be a lot of kids - including mine who will be declining Kelley in the next few days with the releases that have come out this week and will next week. So spots will open up.

Do the SSA results come out today?

They were supposed to but only one person said they giot anything.

Ouch. That’s dispiriting. S24 has a 35 ACT and a 3.88 UW GPA, but attended two HS. We assumed it would be no problem to gain direct admission—but he’s still “pre-business”

Do you mind sharing where you are locating this status in the portal? Is this the same thing as the one.iu account? When we have been in the one.iu account, we cannot locate any information which is concerning me as a parent. Thanks so much!

Yes, the one.IU account. I believe far right will say pre-business or business, the latter meaning they’ll likely be getting admitted but no a guarantee
at least as I understand it.

If you hit “application status” it should tell you
 :crossed_fingers:

Thanks for your help! So helpful! My son’s just shows “You do not have any applications at this time.” on a white screen. I am wondering if it is because we already gave intent to commit. I will certainly call tomorrow to find out. Thanks again!
