Any chance of hearing anything after this today? I was really hoping we get a conclusion today!
After all these waitlists I just want this whole thing to be over even if itâs another waitlist or rejection
No word yet. This has been an awful wait. Petitioned Oct 16th, Accepted to IU in early December. At a CA IU event I spoke with the Director of Admissions and he said petition decisions would be no more than two weeks after acceptances went out. Well⊠Monday is April 1st - much longer than âtwo weeks.â
S24

Test Optional as we are from CA
Stillll waiting looool.
Understand Kelley had a lot of petitions to review, but most colleges declared their RD decisions this week and they also had a huge volume of applications to review. I hope they understand the anxiety of students and parents and declare the results soon!
Itâs almost April? 30 days from national signing day
The original message when the petitions were submitted said the students would hear by April 14.
Yes, sounds great, give them 2 weeks before a decision has to be made. Meanwhile all the other schools in the nation already notified their applicants. For those who want to visit schools it makes it very last minute and a tricky puzzle to decipher.
@Mattlick I agree with you! I was just reminding everyone what Kelley said about April 14. Decisions arenât due until May 15 at this point. Thereâs plenty of time to visit even if not a direct admit to Kelley. It can be done as pre-business acceptance!!! My sophomore son has a roommate that did it. If the kiddo really wants IU then go! Itâs a fantastic school, town, atmosphere! If there are better options with direct admit then maybe move on.
My daughter heard about her petition back in January. If she was still waiting now, she probably would have moved on to her current âotherâ choice and weâd be done. As of now sheâs still fluctuating between IU and one other school on the east coast.
What school?
@Rb1227 you can text me. Iâm not getting into it here. 732-533-7790
Yah, its tricky. He has 3 midwest schools that he likes, and we want to visit all three at once for cost control. But we want to wait til Kelley decision, cause its his top choice of the three currently. But the visits will be easier if we visit 2 instead of three, and if he gets into Kelley direct we would cut one out, and if not, we cut out the visit to Kelley. And if he isnât into Kelley direct, I donât want him visiting and falling in love with it because he already is direct into a good B-School but for whatever reason, he just is excited about IUâŠ
Would he not consider the standard admission route to Kelley? Plenty of students are successful at that, but I do understand that direct admit can be more appealing.
He might. But he is into Gies and likes the certainty. It becomes personal preference, as well as social factors. But to get in his head to understand why he prefers what he does is not always so simple, lol.
YesâŠthe choice of Gies direct admit would be hard to ignore. Students are happy at UIUC and Gies so much smaller than KelleyâŠIMO thatâs a benefit, and things like business clubs and such are less competitive.
Trying to decide between OSU fisher (direct admit) versus IU Kelley (standard admit âwaiting for petition). Also some ACC schools and SEC schools in the mixâNC state, Auburn, Syracuse, etc. thoughts???
Weâre in the same spot. OSU Fisher with scholarship or IU - if S24 doesnât get into Kelley, thatâll fall off. Then there are a few waitlists.
I feel like this is the hardest thing ever. Ivy day is over and everyone is deciding and itâs frustrating that they havenât released this late into the process. Very sick of anxiously checking my email and IU portal. Hope it comes out soon
My son is a sophomore at Iu. His roommate was not da to Kelley. He got in for sophomore year. It can be done!!
@jefrobertson A question for you: With more students admitted âpre-businessâ in 2024, do you think the sophmore admit criteria to Kelley (i.e. grades of Bs and above) will change / be more competitive for the class of 2028? How will they accommodate that influx of students? Or, is the size of the pre-business group consistent with past years⊠Just curious
