10% increase in apps would result in about 80 more standard admits than this year not a big deal.
Basically IU Kelley has created a waitlist without telling petitioners you’re on a waitlist this year.

Serious question! Why aren’t you all looking at the next school!! Or giving a deposit to the next school and wait on Kelley?!
My sons roommate from 2 years ago actually never heard from Kelley. He still enrolled at IU, and he made it through, frat, parties and more!
Glad my son wasn’t trying for Kelley!!! He got his major.
My da daughter is still deciding. She has 7 schools to think about. Narrowing it down to IU and one on the east coast.
If she wasn’t da, she’d be decided already!!!
Time to decide!!
Why deposit to the next school before may 1 and before Kelley decision deadline of 4/14 if Kelley is my son’s top choice at the moment?
My son is direct admit into Farmers Business - Miami Ohio and Engineering at Ohio State. Saw both schools and liked. However, Ohio State just felt like all Ohio folks. We from Illinois. Waiting on Kelley as well w/ petition. The Miami Farmers Business School program was really well done. Seemed more personalized. I wonder if that is better …as is IU-Kelley going to have “competition” to do anything (club, Leadership, etc)?
OK… so it obviously wasn’t this past Friday… Does anyone have any info (credible or otherwise)?
Everything I’ve been told is they are essentially if not actually ready. To wait generally means there are few spots and better to delay bad news than deliver for the University. Portal at this point still showing Biz - good news, showing pre-biz bad news. Kelley is working backward from May 15 not from petitions in October. They try to give 45 days and they want to take their time in evaluating all the petitions. Very unusual for Kelley to deliver news on Fridays. I don’t think they will deliver it on April Fools Day.
Correct. May 15 actually. Why would anyone make formal decisions on pivot until then? Spots will not “open” until May 15 either. Stinks to wait, but that’s the game. If you want to make an emotional decision to put something on Instagram sooner than go for it. But it’s not time to decide, it’s time to hear and evaluate.
Thanks Jeff. Insightful as always !
Fwiw, my college roommate sent both his daughters to Miami business school (we were roommates there in the 90s) and they seem to really love it and he raves about.
Like everything else, it’s what you make of it. Oxford is definitely small, but I love the Miami campus.
So, basically there are very few spots and if portal still says pre-biz it is unlikely to change and maybe move on…?
Yeah thats what I am hearing too. So sad as got rejected from all the colleges. Only have Penn State smeal. If direct admit would have committed by now. Very tough decision between in state PA Smeal vs standard admit Pre business.
I would not say that necessarily- I would at least give them until the published date of April 14
Decisions are going out. I was admitted today. Applied in October, petitioned mid-December. I have a 31 act and applied with a 3.76 gpa. My portal changed from Pre-business to Business and I noticed it like 2 weeks before I got my acceptance.
I am OOS and a Finance major.
Absolutely not. IMO You should treat it like you are on the waitlist if portal reads pre-biz and wait to hear.
All admitted students have business in their portal?
If we do not get a decision or portal today, do we expect to not get in at all? or waitlist?
portal change*
They will share accept, reject or waitlist by April 14
Would be a shame if Kelley doesn’t work out. Was planning to commit while on the waitlist to ivies, just in love with the school and can’t say no to the price
If you do not see a portal change today it means go outside turn around 3 times and spit and try again. Or it means the portal didn’t change today and take a deep breath until April 15.
