Due to continued delays in receiving information from the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) process, we are extending the deadline to reserve your space for fall 2024 to June 1. We hope this gives you and your family a little more time to make the best choice for you.
Please read below for updates specific to your admission to Indiana University Bloomington.
By mid-May: Students who have submitted a FAFSA will receive their complete Financial Aid Notification (FAN) packet in the mail.
June 1: Extended deadline to reserve your space for fall 2024. Please review the updated housing timeline and information on how incoming students can apply for housing on the [IU Housing website]).
If youāre ready to reserve your space, take the next step and complete your Intent to Enroll form.
The latest communication gave May 10th as the latest date of notification. Has anyone received notice that this date would now also be changed? I suppose it would make sense that they extend now to may 25th to coincide, but we have not received any such notice and frankly, will not be will to wait much past May 10th anyway.
Iām sure the date will remain May 10. The odds of getting off the waitlist this year are extremely low. The delay to enroll until June 1 is just a gut punch to people on the waitlist. The question you should be asking is are people committed elsewhere actively telling Kelley they are not coming - thatās how people will get off the waitlist by May 10.
Agree, but even when the deadline to enroll was may 15th it was the same situation if people werenāt actively telling Kelley they arenāt coming since may 10th is sooner than the 15th stillā¦
They didnāt choose May 10 this year randomly they usually admit off waitlist about 5 days prior to commitment date. So moving to June 1 without moving waitlist date will very likely result in few positive decisions. They have algorithms on who applies for housing scholarships and checks portal to help determine spots available that wonāt be as accurate this time around. Plus more people decline when its a set earlier date.
@jefrobertson how do you know these facts? Still donāt Understand your connection to IU or Kelley and now your kiddo has chosen another school.
My daughter is already accepted to Kelley, and only sent her intent to enroll last week , but I just posted anonymously on College Talk for anyone da to Kelley and not accepting to please let Kelley know. Maybe everyone should get on social media and say the same thing! Maybe some kids would actually get in!!
Just adding information to the mix. My son was accepted today off the waitlist as a direct admit. He had just accepted an offer from another school yesterday. He has no interest in reconsidering.
Well, I guess its encouraging that with 2 more days to go, they are actually dipping into the waitlist. My son has accepted to another school (that many might prefer over Kelley) but he still wants Kelley for a multitude of reasons. May I ask what state you are from, as these waitlist offers are likely regional.
My brother got into Pre Biz and submitted his review request in Feb because he did test optional but he hasnāt gotten back, May 10th was the date given but chances heāll get in?
He reviewed for DA but heās heard that many students have already accepted their admissions from Kelley are there higher chances for DA after request or SA? What are the chances of rejection? Will this be a rejection wave?
Where are these FAQs? When did this change? They had said final decision by May 10th and that was an extension. My son will not be waiting past today to fully commit to his current choice.
