IU Kelley Petition Tracker 2024

My son got an email from IU yesterday about it.

Due to continued delays in receiving information from the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) process, we are extending the deadline to reserve your space for fall 2024 to June 1. We hope this gives you and your family a little more time to make the best choice for you.

Please read below for updates specific to your admission to Indiana University Bloomington.

  • By mid-May: Students who have submitted a FAFSA will receive their complete Financial Aid Notification (FAN) packet in the mail.
  • June 1: Extended deadline to reserve your space for fall 2024. Please review the updated housing timeline and information on how incoming students can apply for housing on the [IU Housing website]).

If you’re ready to reserve your space, take the next step and complete your Intent to Enroll form.

Has anyone heard of anyone being accepted off the waitlist at this point?

Just a guess but with deadline moved to June 1st it might now not be until early to mid July before students are accepted off the wait list.

The latest communication gave May 10th as the latest date of notification. Has anyone received notice that this date would now also be changed? I suppose it would make sense that they extend now to may 25th to coincide, but we have not received any such notice and frankly, will not be will to wait much past May 10th anyway.

I’m sure the date will remain May 10. The odds of getting off the waitlist this year are extremely low. The delay to enroll until June 1 is just a gut punch to people on the waitlist. The question you should be asking is are people committed elsewhere actively telling Kelley they are not coming - that’s how people will get off the waitlist by May 10.

Agree, but even when the deadline to enroll was may 15th it was the same situation if people weren’t actively telling Kelley they aren’t coming since may 10th is sooner than the 15th still…

They didn’t choose May 10 this year randomly they usually admit off waitlist about 5 days prior to commitment date. So moving to June 1 without moving waitlist date will very likely result in few positive decisions. They have algorithms on who applies for housing scholarships and checks portal to help determine spots available that won’t be as accurate this time around. Plus more people decline when its a set earlier date.

@jefrobertson how do you know these facts? Still don’t Understand your connection to IU or Kelley and now your kiddo has chosen another school.

My daughter is already accepted to Kelley, and only sent her intent to enroll last week , but I just posted anonymously on College Talk for anyone da to Kelley and not accepting to please let Kelley know. Maybe everyone should get on social media and say the same thing! Maybe some kids would actually get in!!

Agreed. I helped my kid inform IU/Kelley a few days ago that he would be attending elsewhere. Reason it took so long is he was undecided until then.

Just adding information to the mix. My son was accepted today off the waitlist as a direct admit. He had just accepted an offer from another school yesterday. He has no interest in reconsidering.

Well, I guess its encouraging that with 2 more days to go, they are actually dipping into the waitlist. My son has accepted to another school (that many might prefer over Kelley) but he still wants Kelley for a multitude of reasons. May I ask what state you are from, as these waitlist offers are likely regional.

Connecticut.

Just for reference, my son received an offer off of the waitlist yesterday too. We are from Virginia (DC Metro area).

My brother got into Pre Biz and submitted his review request in Feb because he did test optional but he hasn’t gotten back, May 10th was the date given but chances he’ll get in?

He reviewed for DA but he’s heard that many students have already accepted their admissions from Kelley are there higher chances for DA after request or SA? What are the chances of rejection? Will this be a rejection wave?

For the ones recently off the waitlist can you list your major along with the state

Did anyone get accepted? If so what were the stats?

Stats for today?

Exactly Same here… waiting today… But I see this on the FAQs:

Students who accept their spot on the waitlist will be notified of a final decision no later than July 1, 2024

Where are these FAQs? When did this change? They had said final decision by May 10th and that was an extension. My son will not be waiting past today to fully commit to his current choice.
