I have to get an IV injection through my vein for a medical procedure. I haven’t gotten one in so long, so I don’t remember how it felt. Is there a lot of pain involved or is there not that much pain involved?

It doesn’t hurt once it’s in. The most painful part is the needle insertion, which only lasts a few seconds at most.

You’ll be fine, it’s not bad. But I’ve heard that getting an arterial line hurts. Not that you need to worry, yours is an IV.

At most, it stings a little for 3 seconds. No biggie.

Unless they let a medical student do it. Then it might take several sticks…

It feels like a shot, but then it doesn’t hurt once it’s in.
