ive been put in the regular admission pool

I was put into the regular admission pool after i applied early action. My gpa is around a 3.4 with sats of math 610, reading 470, writing 500. I’ve done 90 hours of community service, interned at an accounting firm, part of FBLA, BLT, Model UN, Student Council, Venture Forth, Cross country, Indoor track, Outdoor track (varisty for all) ive taken classes in the summer to get ahead. Also ive had some medical problems in my junior year and wasn’t able to put in my full potential. After my first quarter grades i got around a 91 gpa with 2-3 aps senior year. I was wondering what i can do to get accepted to Northeastern. I was thinking of doing an interview to let the university know a little about me and about my problems i had.

I’d send the Admissions Office a letter telling them about the medical problems, if you didn’t make it clear on your app that that was what was going on.

i used my medical issues in my essay

Yeah you could do that. Or you could write about it “Additional Info” section. But since your app’s already in, I really think you should write a letter.

wut should be in the letter

Here is a link you might find helpful and perhaps give a little encouragement :

[Northeastern Admissions](http://nuadmissions.typepad.com/ronne/)

Thank you. Um currently my school doesn’t do a 4.0 scale and does it out of a 100 scale. My gpa is around an 85 and my sats weren’t as high as i would like it. I’ve been trying senior year and have gotten an overall gpa of a 91. If i have a higher second quarter grades than first quarter and i go for an interview and recieve new accomplishments would that better my chances

Maybe…I don’t know if they do interviews though…last year, some of the students that were deferred got accepted for spring semester if they didn’t get in during RD time. I would let them know that NEU is your first choice for sure.

thank you if im writing a letter what else do i say besides that they are my number once choice.

What I meant when I said that you should write a letter is that you should explain the medical problems that impeded you from working to your fullest potential (if you didn’t already explain it in your app). Hope that helps!

Can your guidance counselor write the letter? Would probably hold more weight with admissions.

I’ll see what happens. What else besides a letter do you think that i should do

number of qualities and experiences that will prove to be both valuable and unique to the university.
First, I have overcome more learning challenges compared to the average student. For example, during my freshman year of high school I was assigned to attend a learning center class three days a week because teachers determined that extra help with my homework and test-taking skills would be a benefit to me. By the end of my freshman year, however, a reevaluation revealed that I no longer required extra assistance. My diligence and sustained efforts to adopt the learning center’s problem solving strategies were successful and provided me with the valuable tools necessary to apply towards my studies. This just proves that when I encounter any difficult tasks, my hard work and determination will help me achieve concrete results.
Second, during my junior year, I faced certain medical challenges that impacted my academic life and temporarily deterred me from maximizing my potential both as a student and as an athlete. In October of 2007, my cardiologist advised me to cease all physical activity until

further notice because I had an abnormally enlarged heart and was diagnosed with pre-hypertension. As a result, I was not able to complete the cross-country season and was restricted to homebound activities. This was a difficult time for me. Nonetheless, my resilience and optimism helped me
maintain a positive outlook about my condition. For example, I focused my energy on other things including schoolwork and improving my second quarter grades. In March, my doctor gave the clearance allowing me to once again participate in physical activity. Despite having only a short amount of time to prepare for my cross-country season, I was able to improve my running times–a feat that I achieved exclusively through dedication and determination since I was committed to putting in extra time at the track to get myself back into shape. Although during my junior year I was dealing with the added stress placed on me by my unexpected medical crises, I remained hopeful and was able to stay focused towards my academic goals. After being cleared to run, I pursued my running goals with the same vigor as I demonstrated in the classroom. My secrets to overcoming any challenge, whether it was big or small, have been my focus, commitment and hard work.

These were the the paragraphs that i used in my essay for my medical issue. Should i still write this in my letter. If so besides the fact the i say that Northeastern is my number 1 choice or my top choice and my health problems what else should i write in the letter. I was thinking of adding why Northeastern is suited for me. Plz help

I sent Northeastern an email and ask them about the interview and they said that they dont do interviews but if you come for a visit you can talk to an admissions counselor. Would that be a good idea in my situation. This is what i plan on doing. I know im writing alot but i want advice because i feel that i am a viable candiate for Northeastern. I plan on going to visit northeastern to get to talk to the admissions counselor, i plan on writing a letter which i’ll let you guys see it later, im tryin my best in school to get above a 91 from my first quarter grade senior year, i want to send them an email with my new accomplishments. Currently i want to major in accounting and i was selected as the chief financial officer of a student run business and i plan on applying as a position such as vice president or treasurer for a decca position. If i am able to do these things i feel that i would have an advantage. Should i be thinking this?
