I’ve been told by graduates of Ivy-type colleges that I can “write my own ticket” when it comes to employment, graduate school, etc.
Other than for a career in investment banking, to what degree is there truth in that?
Some say that “success” has significantly more to do with what the individual brings to the table in terms of intelligence, motivation, common sense, ability to work as a team member, etc.
When one thinks about it, the vast majority of individuals who demonstrate those qualities come from non-Ivy schools, since the Ivy-type schools represent a tiny portion of all colleges that are out there.
