I've decided to pull myself out of the game...

So… After much thinking and evaluating, I’ve decided that BS maybe isn’t for me. I’ll be going to High School next year here in England, and from what I’ve seen of the school here, I really like it. I want to be able to spend 4 solid years in one place. Ever since Pre-K and Nursery I’ve changed schools and never spent time at a school from start to finish in one place, and this time… I’m committed to doing just that.

I’m sure BS is one of the greatest educational endeavours one can take on, but unfortunately it’s not for everybody. Call me a quitter even without trying to apply to the great schools everybody has heard from this year, but maybe being away from home isn’t the easiest. I’m sure everybody whose planning to attend this year will do great at whatever they choose to do and flourish in the new environments. I to, am really looking forward to the next 4 years at home, with my family and a clean slate at a new school.

CC has been an amazing wealth of information on what to do and not to do in the BS cut throat world of applications. And to everybody whose helped me put things into perspective, a big thank you! You all are true Prep School Gurus! And you have great insights into everything! :D

Good luck to everybody whose attending BS next year! And to those of you on wait-lists, I really hope that you’ll all get to where you want to be this fall! Also, those who would have been my competition next year, go show the Admissions team what your best at.

Signed,

A BS hopeful and well-wisher who never tried, but is happy right where they are :-)

Not a quitter - just someone who knows their own heart and listened. I call that “brave.”

Good luck. I suspect we’ll be seeing great things from you in the future.

are you going to a state school?
I agree that for some people, bs just isn’t the right thing. I think it’s good that you worked that out BEFORE going there.

@Alixindigo, nope it’s a private school. It might be the one where you were meant to take your SSAT.

@Exie, thanks for the reassurance :)

Bye PreppyDude123. Hope you do well back in England.

@ifax108, You too. Your reapplying right?

I’m going to apply, but if I get in, I’m not sure if I will go. I’m going to be doing a lot of cool things next year that I can’t do if I go to boarding school. But, I’ll still apply.
