I've got a 3.85 GPA, but only because the Ministry of Education said so.

Hi!

So I'm in a British-curriculum school, and I've got a 3.85 GPA, but that's only because the Ministry of Education of my country says a B in the British Curriculum = 3.7 in freshman+soph years, and 3.5 in junior+senior years, not 3.0 as in the American system.

What will this mean to American colleges? Will they see sprinkles of Bs and ignore my 3.85 to recalculate it so that Bs mean 3.0? That will certainly bring my GPA down.

Colleges do recalculate GPA for students. It will come down.
