- Check to see which Ivy schools go test optional due to Covid. I believe Yale just announced it would be test optional for next year.
- Even with a high GPA any Ivy or equivalent school must be considered a reach for any unhooked applicant.
I’ve heard from this board that there is not one thing that gets you in (no guarantees).
Don’t submit your SAT scores. As of today 5 of 8 Ivy colleges are test optional for next year. They are Columbia, Cornell, Penn, Yale and Dartmouth.

This question and variations have been asked countless times here on CC. Look at the College Admissions forum pinned posts. Most colleges, it seems, are going to be test optional for the coming application cycle.
There is no trick on how to get into an Ivy. High grades and high test scores might get you to the gate. Holistic admissions mean high grades and low test scores might also get you to the gate, but no ONE thing is going to get you THROUGH the gate. They will consider everything you submit.
The best advice is to work hard and pursue things that genuinely interest you. Be likable. Get good recommendations and write good essays.
The second best advice is to broaden your horizons.
It’s ironic that likely 99% or more of those obsessed with entering schools in a particular sports conference actually could care less about how well those schools do in those sports.
