I’m new to this forum, and I come here to ask questions about college admissions occasionally and get to know more about colleges. When I skimmed over the posts, I found that most posters here are ultra-bright students who get into multiple ivies in junior year…it’s impressive…but I feel so stupid myself — I’m a senior and I never applied to colleges last year. I did apply to a couple ivies (cornell is one) but the chance of getting in is little, and other ones I’m aiming for are far from being “top colleges”. Are all people on this forum on the apex among their peers in terms of grade? or it’s just my mistaken observation?

what? ivies in junior year?

Your original post is er… somewhat confusing but I think you’re asking if the people who hang out on here is typical of the average HS’ler. And the answer to that, is an emphatic, no.

Nah, most kids here are ones that apply to ivies their senior years. And yes, they’re all the pinnacles (plural form is paradoxical) of human evolution.

Even among the kids who apply to ivies, CCers are at the top. Two kids from my school were accepted early to Brown and one to MIT, and none of them stressed out as much as the kids on here do…not to mention, most of the kids on here are a lot more qualified than they were.

Ohh…now I really do feel so stupid…U chicago was the only one I applied early but got deferred. So I shouldn’t even be on this forum in the beginning?

To Truazen: pls define “typical HS’ler”, because idk if im one of them.

UChicago is a really competitive school! Getting deferred is not at all bad … a few top kids at my school go deferred as well. Good Luck!
