Ivy League and High tier schools

This question is for all accepted students or those who know accepted students, admissions counselors ectt… (High tier besides Ivy League as in: Stanford, Duke, Vanderbilt, Georgetown, Emory, NYU, northwestern, John Hopkins, UC Berkeley, ectt…)

What did your ( or their) resume look like? (Grades, SAT, EC, outstanding awards…) What do you think got you accepted?

If your HS has a Naviance system that would be a great place to start.

I was accepted to Berkeley and Emory. I’d say my resume was pretty solid, not outstanding, but pretty solid (3.9 GPA, 30 ACT, lots of ECs and awards). I’d say my essays and letters of recommendation were what gave me the best shot at those schools. Plus i took the hardest classes offered at my school. Hope this helped with whatever you needed the info for.

I was accepted to Berkeley with decent academics. My resume includes a 3.93-ish GPA, 2260 SAT, two sports, multiple leadership positions in clubs, and decent summer activities. My level of course rigor is very high, with 12 AP classes total.

However, what made me stand apart from the crowd were my essays. I recommend choosing a topic that you have a great personal connection with as it will allow you to illustrate your true feelings and passions, rather than the synthetic enthusiasm that is sometimes employed by students.

Good luck with your college admissions and thanks for giving me the chance to do a little extra bragging about myself!
