Your ‘hook’ is ‘first generation.’ Otherwise, you have the same chances as all the other smart, highly qualified and accomplished applicants, which is small.

Take a look at Stanford: 15% of their freshman class this year is first generation. It’s an important part of their educational mission. Also an especially very good fit given your interest in biomedical and neuroscience research.

Which URM are you?

I missed the URM - that could make a significant difference as well.

You seem to be double-hooked, and that would certainly give you great chances. Try to ace your SAT Subject Tests and, if possible, increase your SAT I score by 100 points. In general, you’re in good shape.
