Ivy League Grant Package for Second Child

<p>I would like to know if anyone can provide some general information related to,financial aid at ivy league schools. Specifically I would like to know how did your expected family contribution change with with a second child at the same or different ivy league school. </p>

<p>I think Ivy League schools use CSS/Financial Aid Profile to determine the student’s financial aid.

The PROFILE also gives a break when two or more children are in college simultaneously. When this occurs, the Expected Family Contribution for each child will drop by about a third.</p>

<p>So if the family’s EFC is $30,000 for the first-born, it will drop to about $20,000 when a sibling starts college. And the second child’s EFC would also be $20,000.

<p>FA is not the same for all IL schools; HYP are likely to be much more generous than the others. I’m assuming you’re interested in Y since you had a kid start there in 2012? Have you run their NPC with two kids in college? My assumption is that Y would treat a second kid in college the same no matter what college they attend, but I don’t know that for sure. You could also call the FA office and ask about their policy.</p>
