Hi! So, I was wondering if I completely screwed up my chances of getting into Ivy League this year. I’m a us citizen, but I did 9th grade in India. I got all As in the private school I went to- but bc of that my science creds all count as non- advanced, along with all the other courses I took. And then this year, I took to ap science courses- and I have a B in both (started out with a C, so it’s getting better:)) and I have a C in precal- entire year. I also have a B in all the other course I’m taking, just bc I have no time to spend on them without going down drastically in science and math.
Supposing I go back to India next year, and get As next year, what are my chances.more importantly, what do I do?? I got a 2100+ this year when I took the sat, but I’m aiming for a 2400 next (junior) year- is there anything else I must specifically work on?
I have no extra curriculars at this point- should I make up for that by volunteering or something?
Thanks so much(:

Guys, some advice please?

In order to get into an ivy league school, you will probably need higher grades (getting all As next year will help) and some extracurriculars. Find something you’re interested in and explore it! Also, your experience in India sounds very unique and will help a little with admissions. Good luck!

You might want to consider backup schools… not just because of your lack of ECs but even with ECs, the Ivies are reaches for anyone.

Try to bump up your GPA and test scores. Chances for ivy leagues are never high for anyone even those with perfect GPA and test scores. So, you should be prepared for the outcome if you decide to apply to any of them.

Is it just me or are a lot of people struggle in precalculus? I know that I have one of the worst teachers at my school(like 6 teachers), but I don’t know about you but I can’t get above a 90 in precalc

But yeah bump up that gpa to like a 3.8ish and do community service and get some leadership. Then it’s the lame way how ivies choose students. throw papers into the air and see which 500 land closest to the AO.

Thanks everyone(:

Don’t count your test score chickens before they hatch.
