Ivy League, Pro-Establishment?....

[Chris Hedges: The Best and the Brightest Led America Off a Cliff - Chris Hedges’ Columns - Truthdig](http://www.truthdig.com/report/item/20081208_hedges_best_brightest/)

I could not agree more with Chris Hedges, the Ivy League schools (maybe with the exception of Columbia and Brown) are bastions of pro-establishment propaganda. I mean they always have been to some extent, but in the past two decades, all that was drilled inside the minds of young students was; banking/consulting or bust!

Whether liberal or conservative, the Ivy League is filled with wannabe policy wonks, future bond traders, and Economist reading soon to be technocrats.

There is hardly any talk of alternatives to global capitalism. All ideas are constructed to first meet the needs of big capital and then fulfill social needs.

Would people who attend Harvard say that Chris Hedges offers an accurate depiction of the school? Are alternative ideas marginalized?
