Ivy League Rec Letter

Would a rec letter from someone who donated the money for a building (name is on building) at an ivy league help? Would the person have to do more than just write a letter?

I’m a good applicant, but if I needed something to persuade admissions to accept me, would this one letter help?

It’s hard to imagine what such a person could say about you that would make a difference.

Is the person someone who can attest to your intelligence, your work ethic, your ability to perform at college-- and Ivy no less-- levels in and out of the classroom?

If not, then it’s a waste of everyone’s time. And, worse, I think it makes you look as though you couldn’t get any real letters of recommendation.

Personally, I think your app is probably stronger without it.
