I was just wondering if it was possible to get into a good school like JHU or Harvard with a 4.9 gpa by the end of senior year? I also have a ton of EC’s and a decent SAT score around 2100-2200

I am currently a junior and by the end of this year ill have a 4.7. Also, in my senior year is it worth it to take Calculus 3 through college or should I take ICM (intro to college math, which is like the easier version of Calc AB)? Both of the classes are worth HONORS credits and not AP.

Thanks

These sound like weighted gpa s and I don’t know the avg weighted gpas for JHU or Harvard. However, the unweighted gpa for JHU is 3.6 (or something around the upper 3’s) try looking at the “average class profile”'s they have on the college sites or even the acceptances forums on cc (though don’t take all the cc ones seriously)
About JHU though… Baltimore is horrible. I live here and there’s always something going on. JHU looks like a great university but don’t let anyone tell you Baltimore is a “great plAce to live”

1) you’re not a junior.
2) they look at the gpa when you apply, not the end of senior year.
3) stop posting the same questions on different threads.

Are you serious? Great job getting a FOUR POINT NINE, but you don’t even need to ask this question. And if you’re not a junior, it makes no sense for you to post this.

No, 4.9 sucks. Word on the street is they don’t accept anything lower than a 5.32.

Yeah, if your rank isn’t .001%, I’m pretty sure you’ll be flat-out rejected, sorry to tell you.
